Narrative Writing Due Monday.

Don't forget your Elements of Change narratives for Monday!  Remember, I want the rough drafts as well.

Also, there are quite a few people who haven't started their reading logs.  If you haven't gotten an entry in yet, try to make sure you do that over the weekend.

Here's another link to the assignment sheet just in case you need it.

In Science, we had our first test day for our slowest fluid race! Here is the task sheet for everything involved in this project: Racing Fluids  Our final race will be on Oct 31st!

On Monday, we will be having a Math test on nets, surface area and volume.
We reviewed in class today. You can also use these links to review:

Finally, our Halloween dance will be Wednesday afternoon. Students can wear costumes all day this year. We have started collecting non perishable food items for our We Scare Hunger campaign. Please continue to bring those in next week.

Yesterday we learned how to find the volume of the 3D shapes we have been working with. Today we solved some problems involving volume. These questions are for homework. If you forgot them at school here they are: Volume Word Problems

We will be having a test on Monday on Surface Area and Volume.

In Science, we are getting ready for our slowest fluid race! Remember to bring in your secret  ingredient from home.

Start bringing in non perishable food items for our We Scare Hunger food drive.

Math/Sci Update

In Math, we have been working on nets and surface area for cylinders, triangular prisms, and pyramids. Here are the word problems we worked on today and will continue tomorrow.

In Science, we went over the 4 main points of the Particle Model of Matter.

1. All matter is made up of tiny particles. Different substances are made of different particles.
2. Particles are always moving.
3. There are attractive forces between particles.

In Math we went over our word problems from yesterday, including our challenge problem! Take a look at our questions here: Surface Area of a Rectangular Prism

In Science we have been exploring saturation points of solutes and solvents. We created a supersaturated solution in which we were able to see crystals form! Here is a great review of everything we have been looking at so far: The Great Picnic Mix up
