Math/Sci Update

In Math, we have been using the Pythagorean Theorem to solve for unknown sides of right angle triangles.
In Science, we've reviewed simple machines and spent some time today using ramps and pulleys to see how they can decrease the force we need to use to do work.

Reminder for Play Tomorrow

Just a quick note to remind everyone that no food, drinks or hats are allowed in the Theater tomorrow.

History of the ...

Just a reminder that "History of the..." task should be ready to present to your small group on Tuesday.

Step 1: Pick a device you want to research (needs to have at least 4 different versions)

Step 2: Find pictures of old versions of the device and the approximate year they were first made or used. Paste the pictures into a (word/google) document and type the year and a short explanation or name of the device into the document.

Step 3: Print the document out

Step 4: Cut out the pictures and paste them onto a timeline you create on the paper provided (they should be in order of their development from oldest to newest)

Step 5: Enhance your timeline by including any additional explanations, names of the device, improvements, etc. Why was your machine designed?  Who designed it?  What need or want initiated the development of your machine?

8-4 will get theirs tomorrow.

Homework: Start memorizing the first 20 square numbers

Field Trip on November 16th

Just wanted to mention that on the field-trip form (that went home today for 8-4 and will go home tomorrow for 8-3) we tragically forgot to include the date that we are actually going.

For point of clarification:  It's November 16th.
